Rajdeep Automation Launches a Live Thickness Monitoring App for Optex Laser Sensors

Optex FA's CD22 laser sensor already does the hard part of thickness measurement on a moving line. It reads the material without touching it, holds high accuracy down to micron-level on its finest model, and works across difficult surfaces from reflective metal to black rubber, all while the line keeps running. What the sensor has never done on its own is get that reading off the shop floor. The number sits on the sensor's display or drops into a PLC, and the people who most need it, a supervisor across the plant or an owner who is travelling, cannot see it.

Rajdeep Automation has built the piece that closes that gap. It is a live thickness measurement app for web and mobile that takes the reading from the Optex sensor and puts it on a screen anywhere. The sensor does the measuring. The app makes the reading useful.

The app reads the CD22 straight off its output and streams every value to a live dashboard. Open it on a laptop, a tablet on the floor, or a phone on the road, and you see what the line is producing at that moment along with the trend across the shift. For thickness measurement the sensor can work against a fixed reference such as a roller or conveyor, or with two sensors facing each other across the material, whichever suits the line. Nothing about how the machine runs has to change.

The app is where the measurement turns into something a team can act on:

  • Live thickness readings and trends on web and mobile, viewable from anywhere.
  • Automatic alerts by email the moment thickness moves outside the limits you set.
  • A full history of every reading, ready to download as reports for audits, compliance, and traceability.
  • Role-based logins, so operators, supervisors, and managers each get the view that fits their job.
  • One screen for several lines, or several plants, at the same time.

Rajdeep offers the app in two ways. The cloud version keeps your dashboard available securely from anywhere with very little extra hardware on site. The local version runs entirely inside the factory, on your own network, with no internet connection needed, which matters for plants with strict security rules or weak connectivity. Either way, the data stays yours.

It suits any line where thickness decides whether the product passes. Metals and rolling, plastics and film, rubber, paper, coatings, and battery electrodes are all a natural fit for online thickness measurement. The Optex sensor handles the difficult surfaces, and the app handles the watching.

Rajdeep Automation supplies Optex FA laser measurement sensors across India and now offers the thickness monitoring app to go with them, as a cloud service or a local install.
